When the shower or eyewash is used, a flow switch activates a siren, alerting anyone to the emergency situation. A flashing red light activates if pressure is insufficient for unit to function effectively, alerting maintenance staff to investigate and restore the supply.
Either system may be fitted to any model in the Pratt range. For units with a smaller water supply, a micro switch or proximity switch may be used instead of a flow switch. The system operates at low voltage (17V AC) in accordance with SAA Wiring Rules, and is supplied with an adaptor for connection to a 240V supply.
